League 1 – Agents Club Fees (English Football League 2009-2010)
Between the 1st July 2009 and the 30th June 2010, the club fees paid to licensed football agents by professional clubs in the English Football league almost doubled on the previous year. Football League clubs spent £12,739,867 spent on licensed football agents – an increase of £3,930,355 on the previous year (approximately £8.8million).
In the Football League, League One division between the 1st July 2009 and 30th June 2010:
- League One clubs spent £2,241,771 on licensed football agent fees
- Spending on licensed football agent fees in League One doubled on the previous year
- Southampton were the top spenders on licensed football agent fees at £401,248
- The lowest spending clubs in League One were Exeter City, Stockport County and Tranmere Rovers whose outlay on licensed agents fees was NOTHING.
It is worth noting that Blackpool (promoted to the Premier League) were one of the lowest spenders in The Championship on licensed agents fees were, with an outlay of approaximately £40,000.
